This Request for Tender (RFT) seeks to appoint two (2) Architectural Practices to provide design tutorials for 10 hours each week for 27 weeks per year, working within a year group of 35 – 45 students as directed by Cork Centre for Architectural Education [CCAE], a joint initiative of Cork Institute of Technology [CIT] and University College Cork, offers an exciting opportunity to architectural practices to play a major role in bringing closer the world of professional architectural practice and the academy, through the appointment of a number of Teaching Practices.. 1.2 Background The Cork Centre for Architectural Education, was started in 2006 in response to proposals from the profession, and has attempted to maintain and extend links with practice ever since. Proposals are invited from architectural practices which can take responsibility for design studio elements of the BSc (Hons) Architecture programme in 2015-2016, in collaboration with the Director of the Centre, the Assistant Director, the Programme Coordinator and the Year Co-ordinator. 2. Required Services CIT, acting as the Contracting Authority for this tender, wishes to appoint two (2) Architectural Practices, who will have equal standing, to deliver the services as presented in Part 2 of this Request for Tender document. 3. Duration of Appointment It is envisaged that two successful Practices will each be awarded a 12 month contract, starting September 2015, with an option at the sole discretion of CIT to renew the appointment of one or both of the Teaching Practices for a maximum of two further 12-month period(s).
