Network Rail has been running station tours at Glasgow Central Station for approximately a year with great success. Launched and run by a member of the team there with help from a temporary member of staff drafted in to support due to the success to date they have succeeded in not only generating revenue but also in gathering reputational momentum that is invaluable to Network Rail and the railway. As a result Network Rail Property/Retail would like to launch a wider scale programme of station tours across more of the managed station portfolio due to this unprecedented success. The proposal to expand the tours has the full backing of the executive board. It is intended that the tours on the stations out-with Glasgow Central will be run by an external outsourced company that is a specialist in project start-up, hospitality, experiential activities and safety. Potential Bidders should note this is a concession agreement and is advertised in OJEU purely to encourage expressions of interest. Utilities Regulations Rules will not be adhered to.
