Tender description

To commission a transport service that operates a dedicated discharge crew to facilitate same day discharge and where appropriate, a transfer and A&E take home service, operating between the hours requested by the acute trust and within the commissioned hours, however the service must be responsive to fluctuations in demand, both from day to day and a longer term basis. To commission a service that will support the discharge of admitted patients at up to 1 of the 3 sites within South Yorkshire and their associated sites, to their home address or stated discharge address if staying with family or carer, including patients whose permanent residence is at a residential or nursing home. The reason for this VEAT notice is to extend the current agreement for approximately 1 year from the end of the current contract which expires on 31.3.2016. This is to give the CCG and potentially other CCG's an opportunity to complete a strategic review of patient transport services across South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw. The aim is to go to full OJEU compliant tender after the review has been completed and recommendation have been approved by the relevant boards once the CCG's have had an opportunity to complete a full review and draft a comprehensive and relevant specification.
