Fire Extinguisher Service and Maintenance REQUESTS FOR CLARIFICATION CLOSE ON FRIDAY 22ND JANUARY 2016 AT 5 PM Project Description Swindon Borough Council (SBC) wishes to engage a contractor to provide annual service and maintenance of the fire fighting equipment installed in the corporate buildings for which the Borough Council is responsible. The contractor must be registered as a BAFE contractor. This contract shall comprise of the periodic inspection/testing and verification of fire fighting equipment within council buildings: • Civic Buildings • Sport Centres • Elderly Persons Homes • Community Centres • Social Services Sites • Public Car Parks & Toilets • Multi- Storey Flats Other Information The evaluation of tenders will be based on 70% total price and 30% quality. Contract Period The contract will be for an initial period of 2 year period commencing 1st April 2016, subject to satisfactory performance. This is a competitive tender and a contract will be awarded to the organisation that is deemed to represent the most economical and advantageous tender. Responses are required to be submitted no later than 27th January 2016, 12.00GMT by hardcopy to the address as stated on the Tender Return Label only. If you require any clarifications on the tender documents please submit these in writing via e-mail, including the project name clearly in the e-mail title, to dsamuel@swindon.gov.uk by 22nd January 2016, 12.00 GMT. The Council’s responses to these clarification questions will be uploaded as attachments on the project webpage attachments section. Therefore it is the Contractor’s responsibility to check the site regularly for updates to clarifications, as you will not be advised when updates have been made. No Tender submissions will be considered without completing the tender documents in full including attachments and returning them in alignment with the instructions within the tender documents. 1. Any supplier clarification question and answer will be posted onto the portal anonymously (that is, WITHOUT any details of the supplier who has asked the question). The deadline date for clarification questions is 22nd January 2016 and all questions will be answered via the portal by 24th January 5pm latest.
