Award Notice The Contract has been awarded to IGSL Ltd. in the amount of €177,465.00 excluding VAT. The purpose of contract ‘N6 GCTP: GI Phase 3 - Contract 1’ is to obtain soils, geology and hydrogeology data on the existing ground for the emerging preferred route corridor of the N6 Galway City Transport Project. The works will take place predominantly in rural, undeveloped land and adjacent to residential areas. Access to some locations will be gained from public roadways and formal traffic management plans will be required. This contract will involve both intrusive and non-intrusive investigation works. The intrusive works will consist of installation of bore holes, cable percussive and rotary drilled; machine dug trial pits to depths of up to 4.5m below existing ground level; continuous window samples to depths of 5m below existing ground level; standpipe construction; and sample collection and laboratory testing. The non-intrusive works will include surface geophysical survey using 2D resistivity methods; and surface geophysical survey using seismic resistivity methods.
