For the provision of Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS)

Tender description

Non-Emergency Patient Transport Services (NEPTS) is the planned transportation of patients with a clinical requirement for NHS funded transportation and covers patient transportation to and from Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH). To meet the varying clinical needs of the patient the provider will provide fit for purpose vehicle types and levels of care suitable for the patient’s needs. The main NEPTS service is commissioned by the local Clinical Commissioning Groups and this purpose of this service is to support Nottingham University Hospitals in two ways:- 1. Provide a dedicated 24 hour vehicle to support ED, which is based in ED to transfer patients to specialty beds at the city campus and to other health and social care settings. To include time critical discharges from ED only. 2. To support all other transfers between the two hospital sites, Queens Medical Centre (QMC) and City Hospital (City) and to support the Discharge service at times of peak demand when the main contractor is unable to respond in sufficient time to support patient flow at NUH. TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings (protection of employment) will apply to this contract. The Nottingham University Hospitals has obtained TUPE information from the current supplier(s) and includes details about the staff that currently perform the service, which is subject of this invitation to Tender.
