PAN1092 - Rucksacks for City Wardens

Leicester City Council’s City Wardens aim to improve the quality of the environment and engage with communities to promote our environmental services. They observe and report environmental issues and help develop local knowledge and links with community and other local services. The City Wardens investigate complaints and take action on a wide range of environmental issues which includes: • Fly-tipping investigations and enforcement • Litter, graffiti, fly-posting and leaflet distribution reporting and investigations • Nuisance parking (vehicles for sale or being repaired on the highway) • Dog fouling • Waste offences • Smoke free offences • Enforcement of unlicensed Skips, scaffolding and Hoardings • Untidy land • A boards • Street trading • Issuing on-the-spot fixed penalty notices Due to the varied nature of the City Wardens role, they are required to carry a rucksack to carry essentials needed to perform their work. The current rucksacks that we have cause the wardens to have excessive perspiration on their backs which becomes visible and can cause discomfort/look unprofessional.
