Minibus Service at Osborne House

Tender description

The Osborne estate consists of approximately 311 acres of which, 265 acres of grounds are open and available for visitors to explore and take in the experience Osborne has to offer. Visitors will find on the Estate features to visit such as the Walled Garden, Swiss Cottage and Museum and Queen Victoria’s private beach. Swiss Cottage is an important part of the visitor experience. It is approximately 2/3 mile from Osborne House itself. English Heritage provides a minibus service, free of any further charge to its visitors to assist with access to the cottage and the museum. Opened to the public in 2012, Osborne beach is now a popular part of the visit. The beach is approximately 1 mile from the house. English Heritage provides a minibus service, free of charge to its visitors to assist with access to the beach and beach cafe. English Heritage own one minibus which will run on the route to and from Osborne Beach. This minibus will be used by the contractor who will supply the driver. The contractor is also required to provide one minibus with one driver offering a constant shuttle service throughout the day taking visitors to and from Swiss Cottage. The contractor will be required to provide a 7 day week service to commence from 1st April ceasing on 31st October each year (or at the official start and end of season as dictated by English Heritage). The service shall be available from 10.30 am until 6 pm. (5pm from 1st October to 31st October). The service shall also include Bank Holidays, Victorian Christmas Event weekend in December and also the February half term week. Dates will be provided by English Heritage. Other ad hoc minibus bookings will be made from time to time throughout the year and a minimum of 48 hours’ notice will be given whenever possible.Further minibuses and drivers will be required at peak periods.
