Provision for an Appraisal of Sustainability

Tender description

The Department for Transport (DfT) is a central Whitehall Department and its Aviation Directorate is currently developing an Aviation Capacity Programme in preparation for the publication of the Airport Commission’s (AC’s) final report and recommendation on where a new runway should be built. The Aviation Capacity programme is considering what evidence Ministers may need to make a decision on Airport capacity, alongside the AC’s Final Report (expected early in summer 2015) The Department is now planning the next stage of the AoS process and is seeking to appoint Consultants to eventually undertake an AoS, to support a National Policy Statement (NPS), or an Environmental Impact Assessment, to support a Hybrid Bill to inform future decisions on the delivery of aviation expansion. The AoS will need to comply with all relevant legal obligations/directives.
