Reculver Country Park Camping and Touring Caravan Site

Canterbury City Council is seeking offers for a lease to operate a seasonal camping and touring caravan site at Reculver, near Herne Bay, Kent. The Reculver Master Plan (which can be found on the Council's website - https://www.canterbury.gov.uk/3451.aspx) promotes leisure opportunities within an improved landscape setting, particularly around the Reculver Towers. The extension to the Country Park incorporates the proposed site which was previously occupied by static caravans. These have been removed to improve the landscape appearance around this historic monument, the intention being to create a less intensive, seasonal use of the land that promotes leisure opportunities and short breaks. The Council is seeking to attract an experienced operator who will promote the Council's policies and vision and who is willing and able to commit and invest over the long term. The operator will be expected to show evidence of running campsite/touring caravan sites, show financial dependability, and indicate how they will promote and enhance the facilities at Reculver to provide the best possible visitor experience to at least 3 star Visit England or AA 2-Pennant holiday park standard. Operators that have been shown to achieve 4 or 5 stars, or 3 to 5 AA Pennants, and/or a silver or gold Visit England standard will be assessed favourably. However alternative accreditation body standards will also be considered.
