Arun District Council - Bognor Regis, Esplanade Traffic and Parking Options Study

Tender description

To consider alternative traffic and parking options for The Esplanade between Gloucester Road and the Pier and provide an options appraisal to include: a) Full closure to traffic, either permanent or seasonal (like Swanage) or seasonal daytime. o Alternative traffic route o Implications of this on surrounding areas, considering traffic flows, congestion, parking, bus routes etc o Parking opportunities/issues arising from such changes. b) One way traffic. o Which way and reasons for this o Alternative traffic route o Implications of this on surrounding areas, considering traffic flows, congestion, parking, bus routes etc o Parking opportunities/issues arising c) If traffic would still be allowed on the Esplanade either full or part time, o What role could traffic calming and/or shared surfaces play in making the road less of a barrier to reaching the seafront? Cost estimates are required for options a, b and c, both for recommended construction work and also for the required Traffic Regulation Order changes for each option.
