Tender description

The Arts Council England has engaged the Service Provider to conduct research to understand the resilience, and challenges of this, of Local Authority Museums. The Service Provider will provide the following services: An understanding into the challenges and risks faced by local authority-dependent museums in the current economic climate, and the different ways of working which are enabling some of these organisations to withstand these challenges and be resilient. A better understanding into what local authorities value about museums and what their criteria and expectations will be in relation to future funding. Collate the information we need to effectively support museums over the next 3 years and beyond, helping us to better target our own resources and funding, support joint working with other museums’ development agencies and funders, and inform our conversations with local authorities about their support for museums.
