Kings Road - Refurbishment Works Phase 2

Tender description

Portsmouth City Council is inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced providers to tender for this project. The scope of which will comprise of but may not be limited to the repair and decoration of 25 blocks of flats to the South side of Kings Road, Portsmouth. In addition to the 25 blocks of flats the site also contains 4 garage blocks as well as small building that is currently being used by the PCC Green and Clean Service as a welfare and storage facility. Overall the site contains a total of 196 properties made up of 70no. socially rented flats and 126no. private leasehold flats. The blocks were built in the mid 1950's being of traditional brick cavity wall construction with timber cut and pitched roofs with clay tile covering. Each block either has 1 or 2 communal stairwells that each property is accessed directly from. The majority of the properties have private balconies to them with either solid concrete balustrading or metal railings present. The works to be undertaken are of a typical planned maintenance nature and are designed to maintain the existing fabric of the buildings. The indicative timetable for the project is Release of PQQ documentation 6th November 2015 PQQ submission deadline 20th November 2015 - 12:00 Results of evaluation of PQQs 27th November 2015 Invitation to tender issued 27th November 2015 Deadline for requests for clarification 12th January 2016 Tender return deadline 22nd January 2016 Completion of tender evaluation 11th February 2016 Preferred bidder notification 12th February 2016 Standstill period 15th - 24th February 2016 Section 20 Notice period 12th February - 28th March 2016 Contract award 29th March 2016 Mobilisation 29th March - 6th May 2016 Contract Commencement 9th May 2016 Completion of works on-site 2nd June 2017 Contract Period The Council is targeting to have awarded the contract by 29th March 2015 with a subsequent commencement date of 9th May 2015. The estimated value of the contract is in the range of £1.7million to £1.9million. It is envisaged that the contract period will be for 56 weeks. Contractual Arrangements It is envisaged that the form of contract used will be the JCT Intermediate Contract 2011.
