Cleaning Services for Sports Centre

Tender description

Cleaning services for the University’s new £55 million Sports Centre. The centre will be open to staff students and the community between 7.00am and 10.00pm. The requirement is for janitorial services (such as toilet cleaning) during opening hours and core cleaning services (such as floor scrubbing) during closed times (10.00pm – 7.00am). There will also be an occasional requirement for additional cleaning for special events. The facilities will include over 10,500 square metres of space for the delivery of sporting activities on a participative and completion level. The building is spread over 4 floors with the lower floor containing a 50m x 17m swimming pool, sauna, steam room. Changing rooms are a combination of village and group changes enabling schools and member swimmers to change in a safe & secure environment. The Ground floor has a large atrium with a 10m high climbing wall above reception. A franchised coffee lounge is located to the right of reception with a large arena hall to the left. Dryside changing rooms an activity room, bespoke Spin and ergometer rooms are situated along the main corridor with a smaller sports hall to the rear of the building. The first floor contains the member’s gym, 6 squash courts and 2 meeting rooms. The 2nd floor houses are Wellbeing clinic, Performance lab and hub. The business will be aiming to accommodate 10,000 members per year plus student use and an expanding programme of events. Core business will be facilitating approximately 53 internal sports clubs and a number of community sports clubs. This is in addition to members using facilities on a recreational basis. These events will range from local clubs running an annual event to national/international sporting events on behalf of national governing bodies e.g. basketball, squash. These events will be attended by up to 1000 persons and will run throughout the year.
