Contract for New Build Council Housing Pilot in the London Borough of Redbridge

Tender description

The Council of the London Borough of Redbridge (the Authority) invites Tenders from suitably experienced and qualified organisations for the Contract for New Build Council Housing Pilot in the London Borough of Redbridge (the Contract). It is anticipated that the Contract will commence on 30th April 2016 and shall continue up to and including 31st August 2017 (the Contract Period). Redbridge is suffering from a severe housing shortage which is particularly acute in the affordable housing sector. Therefore the Housing Service has been identifying small sites held within the Housing Revenue Account which it can bring forward for development to help address the shortage. The Authority is therefore initiating a project for the provision of new build council housing on three sites in its ownership. The Authority is seeking through this tender process for developer/contractors to submit their designs, method statements and estimated costs for the following three (3) sites as follows:- Site A. Rayleigh Road Site B. Stanway Close / Oakmoor Way Site C. Coppice Path Organisations are required to Tender for all three (3) sites. Tenders for less than all three (3) sites will be rejected. These submissions will then be evaluated as set out in the evaluation criteria and scoring matrix to determine the successful tenderer. The Authority will then instruct the successful organisation to develop detailed designs and submit a fixed price for the development of each site. Subject to the Authority's acceptance that the fixed price is reasonable in relation to the estimates submitted in this tender and is within its budget it will enter into a JCT Design and Build Contract 2011 with the successful organisation.
