UK - Bedford: C6200.01 – LV Jointing Works

Bedford Borough Council’s is tendering in relation to a subcontract for the completion, testing, commissioning and maintenance of LV Jointing Works 2015 -2016. The contractor will be required to provide a LV jointing team to complete the transfer of services on behalf of the Borough Council to UKPN apparatus. It is expected that the jointing team will be embedded in the Council’s Direct Works Street Lighting Team. The Borough Council’s Direct Works Department will be the Principal Contractor for the works. The Council expects though its column replacement programme to complete 1200 to 1600 connections, this is likely to be made up of 85% transfer of services and 15% new connections. The subcontractor must provide a programme for completing the works and expected to start on site week commencing 5th October 2015. It is expected that the subcontractor will carry out between 35 – 60 joints per week; the Council will ensure there are sufficient open excavations to complete this target.
