263/EML/N/15 Table Refurbishment for K25 Electron Beam Welding Facility The University of Sheffield wishes to invite tenders for supply to the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre's Nuclear Group based at Catcliffe, Rotherham. Scope of Requirement: The Nuclear AMRC operates an Electron Beam Welding (EBW) facility K25 (Figure 1) which has been purchased as refurbished equipment from the EBW supplier “pro-beam”. The vacuum chamber of this system originally has been manufactured by the EBW supplier “Steigerwald”. Due to the age and the heavy usage of the facility over the years the facility requires a refurbishment of the x-y table. In order to get high levels of performance a new table including motor and drive will be required. It is recognized that potential suppliers need to visit the NAMRC site to measure the set-up enabling them to present an adequate solution.
