International Courier Services for Diagnostics Samples

Tender description

The Authority is seeking to source the services of an International Courier to transport Blood samples from a UK address specified by the British Bone Marrow Registry to a designated European and World-wide testing laboratory or hospital as required. Blood samples are supplied from potential HLA matched donors for additional tests to confirm their HLA type and microbiology status prior to transplant. If the delivery is delayed the transplant may not proceed on time. Some samples may be required to be refrigerated and maintained between 2 and 8 degrees centigrade and the contractor will be required to supply packaging and demonstrate temperature control and monitoring systems whilst the product is in transit. The point to point delivery of these services are time critical. Also, on occasion, samples may need to be transported from an international collection point to a UK specified address.
