Islington Council invites suitable expressions of interest from General Building Contractors for the erection of a 2nd Lift shaft at the above address serving Ground and 2 additional floors. This contract has previously been advertised on the London Tenders Portal with the number 1415-193. <b>Current status / Background </b> Currently there is an 8 passenger lift and due to internal moves the level of occupation has increased substantially that now dictates an additional lift is to be installed. This contract is for the installation of the lift shaft only. <b>The requirement </b> The requirement is to install a lift shaft to accommodate a 13 passenger/goods lift to serve ground and 2 upper floors. The new lift shaft will be built on the external wall of the depot, and will serve first and second floor levels. The work includes a reinforced concrete structure to create a lobby at each landing level and a new lift shaft. The chosen contractor will work closely with the lift manufacturer and will provide attendance on this named sub - contractor. Contractors should be aware that the site is immediately adjacent to the on-site fuel station serving the Council's fleet of vehicles. This area is likely to be congested at certain times of the day and night. Due to limited space on site, the Site Manager/Foreman will be required to share the current Facilities Team's office as their office based accommodation.
