The Fast Stream is the Civil Service’s flagship graduate development programme, designed to equip some of the brightest graduates with the knowledge, skills and experience they need to be the future leaders of the Civil Service. Our objective is to understand why applicants from lower socio-economic backgrounds are far less likely to succeed if they apply to the Fast Stream, when compared to other groups. We want to understand any barriers to application, and any factors impacting on assessments and successful entry to the Fast Stream for students from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
