IS Project and Service Management Continuous Service Improvement

The EirGrid Information Services (IS) Department plans, manages and co- ordinates a portfolio of IT projects which are delivered to support EirGrid’s business activities. Project Management in EirGrid is concerned with the effective management of projects to ensure successful delivery of high quality products, on time, on budget and for the benefit of business customers. IS projects in EirGrid follow the PRINCE2 methodology. EirGrid IS is also currently implementing a review of Service Management and is using ITIL as the framework by which this will be undertaken. A formal ITIL training programme for the relevant IS staff is currently underway. We are initially concentrating on the Incident, Problem, Change, Release and Configuration Management processes. Therefore, EirGrid requires the services of IS project support service specialists to review a selection of our projects, and Service Management support services specialists to review our service management processes, with continuous improvement in mind. The aim is to ensure best practise and to support our Project Managers/Process Managers in their use of PRINCE2/ITIL as it evolves and matures within the company. The contract will be awarded for a period of three years with an option to extend for a further one year subject to the satisfactory performance of the successful supplier. All of the requirements will be delivered primarily to EirGrid in Dublin with the potential for some ad-hoc trips to SONI in Belfast.
