Design and Build contract for a New Build Housing Project

Tender description

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council are looking for a main contractor to provide construction services under a Design and Build contract for a new build housing project. Planning permission has been granted to construct 18 properties (13 x 2 and 3 bedroom, 2storey houses and 5 x 2 bedroom flats) and as well as providing new homes it is envisaged that the project will deliver community benefits such as employment and regeneration for the community and economy. The construction is split over 6 disused garage sites located in close proximity to each other. It would not be appropriate to split this project into lots, as this will not deliver the expected economies of scale or deliver the economic and community outputs required. In general, work requirements are to comprise of the following: • Design and Build for new build housing construction. • Demolition and site clearance.
