BARNSLEY METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL NORTH AND NORTH EAST AREA COUNCIL Project: Employability For Under 16s Summer Holiday Internship Estimated value: It is estimated that the value of the contract will be in the region of 90,000 over a 20 month delivery period (this contract length includes the staying in touch period). Contract Start: March 2015 Description of Works: As part of its corporate plan 2012-2015, the Council has established 6 Area Councils (Central, Dearne, North, North East, Penistone and South) to better understand local needs and seek improvements and better outcomes for local people. The North and North East Area Council has identified the addressing of a two week summer internship, being provided to Year 10 students during the school holidays and is seeking tenders to address this need. A two week summer internship, provided during the school holidays to Year 10 students. Catering for 120 young people in total who reside within or attend school with in the North Area Council Area. In the North Area this includes the Wards of Darton East, Darton West, Old Town and St. Helens. In the North East Area this includes the Wards of Cudworth, Monk Bretton, North East and Royston. Providing knowledge and greater understanding of the work environment. Allowing young people to experience a work placement and benefit from preparation workshops.
