Tender description

The site is island based on Garinish Island which is off the coast of Co Cork, Ireland. The development will consist of a change of use from residential to museum involving the demolition of a block-work shed and the provision of a new single storey extension to contain a universally accessible Public entrance, a lift at the transition between the existing house and extension, and an accessible toilet facility connected to the existing bio-cycle waste water treatment system. The building works will include the provision of external insulation on the existing two-storey 1940's block which will increase parapet height to the rear by 200mm all around with new render finish to match existing. The external works will comprise hard landscaping of the areas around the house to include the provision of an entrance courtyard, new footpaths and ramps, and the alteration of the existing footpaths and ramp to facilitate universal access.
