Provision of a new corporate website by means of a Content Management System

Tender description

Teagasc's public website is not currently supported by a Content Management System (CMS). The technology used at present is a combination of bespoke code for specific applications using ASP .net, and HTML pages updated using Sharepoint Designer 2007. Updates are restricted to a small number of staff to ensure consistency. It does not support accessibility. The hardware and software used for the corporate website is outdated and is no longer fit for purpose. There is a requirement to expand the base of users, introduce facilities such as scheduled content updates, accessibility, integration with social media, a better mobile interface etc. The bespoke components will need to be integrated into the new technology. At a high level, the scope of the project for the Tenderer is: * To design and build a new single website using a Content Management System (CMS) * To create a new look-and-feel for the website * To migrate the existing content from the corporate site (www.teagasc.ie), the client site (www.client.teagasc.ie) and the Ag Research site (www.agresearch.teagasc.ie) * To train 70 users of the CMS * To provide support for the solution implemented.
