Tender description

The public procurement competition relates to the development of a permanent centre to showcase the local Craft & Design sector in the county of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. In the past decade there has been a significant growth in the volume and quality of Craft & Design businesses in the County. The Local Enterprise Office Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown (and its predecessor the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Enterprise Board) has provided ongoing significant support to these businesses and the sector through training, mentoring, networking and financial assistance. Other specific initiatives included establishing the dlr Winter and Summer Fairs and the dlr Design Corner Pop-up Shop as outlets for display and sales of the local Craft & Design produce. The aim is to further develop the national and international reputation of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown as a centre of excellence for Craft & Design. The vision is to establish a centre, the dlr Design Gallery, that will be recognised as the destination in Dublin for the appreciation and celebration of indigenous Craft and Design.
