Tender description
Suffolk County Council, in partnership with District and Borough Councils in Suffolk will be seeking to procure a new Home Improvement Agency contract. The purpose of the contract will be to deliver a range of services that will enable disabled, elderly and vulnerable people to continue to live in their own homes or to find alternative housing that enables them to continue to be independent of residential care. We have developed a new vision for the service which seeks to go beyond the processing of grants and the overseeing of major adaptations and includes housing advice, minor adaptations at an early stage, support to access alternative funding other than Disabilities Facilities Grants (DFG) and a handypersons service. We would also like providers to consider ways in which they could generate income from the service to reduce costs to the public purse. The contract duration is 5 years with an option to extend for up to 24 months
