Tender description

Oxford Town Hall is a Grade II* listed building, designed by Henry T. Hare, and was completed in 1897. The major public rooms are at first floor level, with a magnificent Main Hall, Banqueting Hall and Council Chamber. The Victorian building covers a site area of some 1900 sq.m., and has five floor levels including a basement. The southern end houses The Museum of Oxford, and there is a 5 storey 1930's extension at the north end that is currently used as serviced offices. The Main Hall is situated at 1st floor level of the Town Hall Oxford. Main Entrance Doors are on St. Aldates road, access is also available from Blue Boar Street. The Works comprise of the Internal Redecoration of previously painted surfaces of the Main Hall ceiling, decorative plasterwork and sculptures. The contractor will be responsible for the proper execution and completion of the whole of the contract works including provision of all necessary scaffolding and staging to enable all works to be carried out in a correct and safe manner.
