Coroners Body Removal Services

Tender description

Cambridgeshire County Council wish to appoint a contractor(s) commencing on 1st July 2015 until 31 March 2018 and extendable for a further period of one year for the removal of bodies where a death has been referred to H.M. Coroner. In Cambridgeshire bodies are presently removed to Addenbrookes, Papworth or Peterborough Hospitals during mortuary opening hours. Out of mortuary opening hours most cases are removed back to the supplier's own premises, and moved to the mortuary in due course when required. There are circumstances where the supplier may be required to collect bodies from out of County, or to transport them out of County. In the event of a catastrophe the bodies will be taken to a centre in accordance with the Cambridgeshire County Council Emergency or Pandemic Plans in place at the time. The above arrangements will remain in place for the foreseeable future. The Council is looking to tender this requirement as ten geographical Lots as follows: A: Wisbech B: Whittlesey C: March D: Yaxley E: Huntingdonshire F: Chatteris G: Ely H: Soham I: Swaffham J: St Neots Potential Providers are invited to tender for one or more of the Lots. A bidders event is to be held on Wednesday 8th April 2015 from 10.30 am - 12.30 pm, at The Keats Room, Lawrence Court, Princes Street, Huntingdon PE29 3PA. Please note that there is no on-site parking available.
