Tender description

SECAD wishes to engage a suitably qualified and experienced organisation / individual(s) to design and deliver intensive market research training. This training will consist of intensive one to one mentoring to assist approximately 5 participants from an agricultural background to develop rudimentary skills in designing suitable market research approaches and for the trainer(s) to work in conjunction with participants to develop detailed, high quality market research reports. This training will target approximately 5 people who have defined business ideas to develop a new on farm business but require intensive support to generate high quality, accurate market research. In addition the trainer(s) will be required to produce a report on the future supports that are required for the farming community in terms of diversification. The details of the report will be based on the experience of those who participated in a Farm Diversification programme with SECAD. This report is to outline key learnings from this process and identify where improvements can be made in terms of future engagement e.g. recruitment process onto such supports & suitable times of the year for programme delivery. The report should detail the business/diversification issues faced by farmers and suitable responses/ approaches that could potentially be taken with a view to providing comprehensive support in the years ahead. The report should provide a range of recommendations leading to the development of a pathway from which SECAD can play a meaningful role in the provision of farm diversification training/supports to the farming community within the context of the 2014-2020 Rural Development Programme.
