Supply and Delivery of a Continious Feed Pyrolysis Unit

As part of the Technology Centre for Biorefinery and Bioenergy, University of Limerick is participating in the development of a pilot plant facility to research and develop applications for the production of bio-energy and bio- refined chemicals, polymers and fuels. As part of the pilot plant, University of Limerick requires a flexible, continuous- feed pyrolysis unit (together with a feedstock input system and a syngas quenching unit) for researching pyrolysis of a variety of feedstocks ranging from very moist organic biomass (such as sewage sludge, brewers grains or the solid fraction of anaerobic digestates) to drier non-organic feedstocks such as auto part residuals. The target outputs from the pyrolysis process will include a quenched syngas fraction, the residues from quenching of the syngas and a biochar/ash fraction that can be analysed for their energy, physical and chemical characteristics. The continuous feed pyrolysis unit should be robust and flexible, capable of handling a range of temperatures, residence times and process protocols typical of those that may be reasonably anticipated by a knowledgeable supplier of equipment to pyrolysis R&D activities.
