To provide training for manager group in relation to managing performance and in particular poor performance

Tender description

The training course should be 2 days in duration and is aimed at equipping managers at middle and senior level with the skills to manage performance effectively using the appropriate and relevant mechanisms and skills while utilising the PMDS process. In particular, the programme should focus on dealing with poor performance and producing performance plans that can assist in the development of the individual so that they can perform fully in their role. Learners will need to acquire the skills of dealing with negativity, bad attitudes, and generally difficult individuals. They should also learn how to hold difficult conversations. The outcome of the programme requires managers to have the confidence to manage the performance of their staff, to know how and when to escalate an issue and when and how to seek support. The PMDS process and the civil service guidelines on managing underperformance should underpin the programme. The programme should involve a variety of learning methods and should include relevant case studies, role plays and exercises that require thought and practice so that skills can be developed.
