Tender description

Fabrication, supply and installation of a small craft berthing pontoon, access gangway and restraining arms within Killybegs F.H.C. Tenderer to act as Project Supervisor for the Construction Stage of the works. The pontoon will provide safe access for department staff to berthed work vessels. The proposed pontoon will be located in a sheltered recess, adjacent to the existing Syncrolift facility within the harbour shipyard. It will include a floating pontoon of approximately 20m in length by approximately 2.40m in width, with a freeboard of approximately 0.50m. Access to the floating pontoon will be along an inclined Access Bridge, approximately 18m in length and approximately 1.60m in overall width. The floating pontoon shall be secured in location by 4 No Restraining Arms secured with pinned connections to Reinforced Concrete Anchor blocks constructed within the adjacent rock armour revetment. These anchor blocks will be constructed by the Department prior to installation. The Access Bridge shall be fixed by a hinged connection to the harbour deck and the entire unit will move in tandem with the varying tidal movement encountered in Killybegs harbour.
