Tender description
Following the successful delivery of a pilot cross border QI/patient safety programme in 2012/13 a second cohort of participants will be provided with a Patient Safet Development Programme. The course curriculum will be based on similar courses delivered outside of the island of Ireland, including the WHO Curriculum for Patient Safety, with adaptation to suit local requirements. It will be targeted at senior clinical leadership within the multidisciplinary teams and core elements will include patient centred care, value added care, human factors in the management of error, improvement science, measurement, service redesign and innovation. A provider is required to deliver four days, out of a total six day programme, whereby ‘‘the Purchaser’ ’ (CAWT Partnership and the RCPI) will be facilitating day 1 and day 6 of the programme from within their own staff resources.
