Tender description

Solar Thermal demonstration system (1) • Must demonstrate the workings of a full scale solar loop installation and be fully functioning. • Design must use an evacuated tube solar collector type. • The demonstration unit must clearly show the main components of a typical solar thermal system (including the solar collector; storage cylinder with heat exchanger; and controller and sensors) • It must be possible to view real-time data from the demonstration unit including transfer fluid temperatures and system pressure. • The demonstration unit must be easily transportable, ideally on a trolley or pedal system. • The demonstration unit must be able to be moved through a doorway of width 1900mm. Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) demonstration system (1) • Must demonstrate the main operating principles of an ASHP (Air to Water system); showing how outside air can be absorbed and converted to usable heat for space heating and/or hot water requirements. • The demonstration unit must be fully-functioning. • The demonstration unit must clearly show the main components of an ASHP (i.e. compressor, condenser, and evaporator). • It must be possible to view real-time data (i.e. temperature levels, pressure, and electrical input) for the demonstration unit. • The demonstration unit must be easily transportable, ideally on a trolley or pedal system. • The demonstration unit must be able to be moved through a doorway of width 1900mm. Under-Floor Heating (UFH) (1) Demonstration system • Must demonstrate the concept of under floor heating (UFH). • The unit must demonstrate how UFH systems work and are controlled. • The layout of the demonstration unit should allow for physical examination of a range of heated floor construction types. • The demonstration unit must be easily transportable, ideally on a trolley or pedal system. • The demonstration unit must be able to be moved through a doorway of width 1900mm.
