Trail Kilkenny- Development & Marketing Contract

Tender description

The contract requires the provision of a range of marketing, development and coordination services to further the recently published business plan of Trail Kilkenny Ltd, which is attached as a document to this tender-and other related services. Trail Kilkenny is a non-profit taking company with a mission to “lead and facilitate the development, management and promotion of a range of high quality walking, cycling and other leisure trails for the benefit of visitors and residents of County Kilkenny”. The trails are both physical (walking, cycling, etc.) and thematic (craft, food, etc.), but all are focused on strategically increasing the tourism attractions of rural Kilkenny. Tactically the integration of the trails and the bundling with other existing attractions and tourism products is a particular emphasis of the plan.The contract requires the delivery of the business plan in terms of its organisational reform, product development and marketing elements. Trail Kilkenny’s current Board of Directors is formed by nominees of Kilkenny LEADER Partnership (KLP), Kilkenny County Council, Kilkenny Sports & Recreational Partnership (KRSP) and representatives of other local stakeholders. KLP is the funder of this tender invitation and the successful contractor will be expected to work closely with KLP and County Council staff attached to the support of the company in its delivery. Overall strategic context will be provided by the Board of Trail Kilkenny and operational support and day-to-day guidance will be available from KLP staff.The contract seeks the delivery of the business plan and the provision of services in three main areas:1. Corporate Reform: The business plan proposes a revision of the company’s corporate structure and its operations to develop more sustainability in terms of its financial resources.
