Wirral Council’s requirements in respect of the Cheshire and Merseyside Suicide Bereavement Postvention Service. The impact of suicide on the bereaved can vary depending on the relationship and time since the death. Adverse effects of bereavement by suicide include financial problems, unemployment, relationship break-up, deterioration in physical and mental health, substance use, increase in casual sexual relationships, suicidal thoughts and also dying by suicide , , .
