Design and Build of Lattice Towers at Sumburgh, Kirkwall, Dundee and Campbeltown Airports

HIAL is seeking the services of a suitably qualified Design and Build Specialist to undertake the detailed design, construction and installation of: - 7 new 10m high lattice towers across 4 locations, - hinged to fold for maintenance access, - suitable foundations, ducting, cabling and termination boxes, The supplier shall carry out a comprehensive lightning protection risk assessment for the proposed mast in accordance with BS EN 62305 standards. If, based on the assessment, the structure does not meet a tolerable risk level, the supplier shall design, supply and install an appropriate lightning protection system in accordance with the relevant standards to reduce the risk to a tolerable level. The supplier will be responsible for the complete design, supply, installation, project management and commissioning of new lattice tower structures. Lot 1: The contractor will be responsible for the complete design, supply, installation, project management and commissioning of new lattice tower structures. The work must be performed in accordance with all relevant industry standards, including but not limited to, the British Standards (BS) and Eurocodes. All works must comply with HIAL’s health, safety, and environmental policies. The new structures must be located next to existing structures in positions agreed upon with HIAL and must not interfere with airport operations, including existing obstacles and flight paths. Regulatory approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of the structures, heights and locations will require to be applied for once the towers have been designed but before the construction can commence.
