Introduction & Purpose<br />The purpose of this RFQ is to invite suppliers to submit quotations for Carbon Emissions Verification Services. The University of Birmingham is seeking suppliers capable of delivering quality services that meet its standards and expectations.<br />The University reserves the right to utilise aspects of unsuccessful bids if deemed appropriate.<br /><br />Scope of Requirements<br />The University of Birmingham is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, independent and accredited supplier to provide carbon emissions verification services. <br />The requirement covers two related areas to work: <br />• Verification of the University’s carbon emissions that must be reported under the mandatory UK Emissions Trading Scheme (UK ETS). <br />• Verification of the University’s annual organisational carbon footprint, covering Scope 1, Scope 2, and specified Scope 3 emissions from water supply and disposal. <br />A single supplier will be appointed to deliver both requirements, as the time periods differ but the underlying data sources and processes overlap. <br />The purpose of this appointment is to comply with the requirements of the UK ETS and our emissions data is accurate, robust, independently verified, and suitable for regulatory, internal governance, and external reporting. It will allow the University to publicly confirm that its scope 1 & 2 carbon footprint for each fiscal year meets ISO 14064. <br />
