The project involves the supply and installation of new doors throughout Oak and Cedar wing within the new Building at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, together with modifications to existing doors to convert them from double-swing to single-swing operation. The door replacements are required to facilitate the installation of new automated door systems. These works are being undertaken in response to ongoing concerns raised by the clinical team regarding the safety and functionality of the existing doors. The current double-swing doors are failing to return and lock securely into position, creating a potential security and safety risk within the department.
