Tender description

The London Borough of Tower Hamlets is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and competent Fire Consultant to support the redevelopment of Albert Jacob House, a former council office building. The proposed scheme comprises the delivery of 53 residential units for social rent and 5 retail units, forming part of the Council’s wider housebuilding programme. The Fire Consultant will provide services up to RIBA Stage 6, ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, associated regulations, and requirements applicable to higher risk buildings. The consultant will act as a Designer under the duty holder regime, supporting Gateway 2 and Gateway 3 submissions, contributing to the Golden Thread of fire safety information, and ensuring that fire safety principles are embedded throughout design, construction, and handover. This contract is being awarded to BB7 Consultancy via a Direct Award on the CHIC Fire and Building Safety Framework.
