The lack of a central booking system has proved to be time consuming, resource and admin intensive, and essentially cost ineffective as it does not make best use of the allocated Department for Education budget. Previously, the mailout costs for 6,169 children, costs the London Borough of Sutton for year 2022 HAF programmes a total of £14,447.70 (this is excluding staff and team’s admin time). If the London Borough of Sutton approve of the recommendation of purchasing the e.vouchers ‘HolidayActivities’ platform this would result in savings, with the annual cost being an estimated £9,253.50 in comparison to mailouts. The updated DfE guidance for 2026 is that Local Authorities have a robust booking system, data management and eligibility checking system in place to ensure appropriate targeting and reporting. This is possible through the central booking system that Wonde’s HolidayActivities platform offers.
