Tender description

This Invitation to Tender (ITT) is for Contractors wishing to tender for the role of Main Contractor for Crome Court Replacement Cladding Section. <br />Crome Court is a student residence building, completed in 2014. The development includes 228nr en-suite bedrooms, 2nr accessible en-suite bedrooms, 2nr Senior Resident flats and 22nr communal kitchens. There is also ‘public’ space occupying part of the ground floor. <br /><br />The development is arranged over 7 storeys to the West wing and 5 storeys to the East wing. The height to the topmost accommodation floor is 17.2m. The building is constructed from a cross laminated timber frame system, supported on CFA piles and concrete raft. <br /><br />The external façade is a mixture of aluminium cladding to the upper floors, render to the central band and stack bonded blockwork to the ground floor. This is augmented by decorative glass fins and a green wall to the south elevation of the west wing. <br /><br />The green wall was originally irrigated by a grey water system, but this was found to be ineffective and eventually was decommissioned, leading to the failure of the planting. Both the watering system and the planting have been removed, leaving an unsightly area of the external cladding. <br /><br />This project involves the removal of the remaining parts of the green wall and replacement of the affected sections with new, pierced-patterned metal cladding.
