Preliminary Market Engagement Notice for the Framework Agreement (FRAM0030/26) for the Provision of Lift Maintenance to the University of Birmingham.<br />Procurement description<br />The University of Birmingham ("the University") is procuring a Framework for Lift Maintenance to the University of Birmingham.<br />The scope of the Framework shall include, but not be limited to: <br />1. The provision of the following services: <br />The University of Birmingham wishes to enter into a long-term contract (the “Contract”) for the provision of Lift Maintenance Services.<br /><br />The University of Birmingham is seeking to award to a single contractor who will provide all of the services relating to Lift Maintenance Services. <br />The University of Birmingham has numerous (c 180) vertical transport installations (hereinafter defined as ‘the lifts’) in various premises, the majority of which are located at and around the Employers Edgbaston and Selly Oak campuses (“Sites”). The Employer will seek competitive tenders from selected lift contractors with a view to awarding a contract to a successful tenderer (‘the Contractor’) in respect of some or all of the vertical transport installations across the sites.<br />The successful tenderer will deliver a comprehensive contract whereby the Contractor undertakes to carry out all or any maintenance, repairs or renewals which may be or become necessary and provide an emergency 24-hour service.<br />The Employer’s objectives are to maintain a high level of reliability and availability of its units by operating a system of planned preventative maintenance with response to call outs and call backs/ breakdowns maintained at agreed performance level<br />The terms of awarded contract shall be fixed and firm for a period of three (3) years commencing 1 December 2026 until 30 November 2029, with an option to extend two (2) periods of two (2) years each up to a maximum extension period of a further four (4) years until 30 November 2033.<br /><br />Engagement<br />The University of Birmingham is inviting expressions of interest (EOI) from contractors in relation to this upcoming tender opportunity. The deadline for submitting an EOI is Tuesday 19 May 2026 at 17:00.<br />Following the initial EOI stage, the University intends to conduct contractor engagement in the form of information gathering and shortlisting, following which a select number of contractors will be invited to partake in the tender.<br />If you are interested in engaging with the University for this project, please register to our E-Tendering Portal (https://in-tendhost.co.uk/universityofbirmingham/aspx/Home) if you are not already, and express interest by completing and submitting the Supplier Contact Details Form as directed. <br />Note: the University of Birmingham is operating as a Non Contracting Authority and any process associated with this tender opportunity will be conducted outside of the Procurement Act 2023.<br />
