EST LJMU 26/08 - John Lennon Art & Design Building Roof Refurbishment

Tender description

Liverpool John Moores University wish to procure the services of a Principal Contractor to undertake roof refurbishment works to the John Lennon Art & Design Building. LJMU has provided a specification for these works within the Employer’s Requirements located in Appendix D. Contractors will be expected to provide costs in the tender for the following: (but not limited to)<br />1. Temporary access <br />2. Refurbishment work to the existing roofs including red, yellow, blue and green roof.<br />3. Works include overlaying the existing roof coverings for 3 roofs and insulation to be installed to one roof (Red Roof). <br />4. Replacement of parapet capping. Prior to undertaking replacement parapet capping works allow for opening up head of parapet wall to reveal the existing construction build-up.<br />5. Remove standing water from 47Nr. oriel roofs.<br />6. Prior to undertaking the works the contractor is to ensure the roof substrate is in good condition and is suitable for mechanical fixing. Pull out tests to be undertaken to ascertain the frequency and security of all fixings.<br />7. Supply and install new bespoke GRP capping/roof to each oriel (47Nr.)<br />8. Removal of existing mansafe system to roof outlined RED and dispose off site. Installation of new fully compliant mansafe system to the Red Roof.<br />9. Associated builders, mechanical and electrical work.<br />2. Tendering Process<br />Liverpool John Moores University will from now on be referred to as “LJMU” or the “Authority” for the purpose of these documents. <br />“Tenderer” is the person, firm or company responding to this Invitation to Tender by submitting a Tender for the consideration of LJMU. The successful Tenderer(s) will be required to work closely with LJMU to ensure the satisfactory management of any resulting Agreement. <br />Liverpool John Moores University does not consider itself a "contracting authority" for the purposes of the UK Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and the Concession Contracts Regulations 2016. Consequently, the university is not bound by the specific obligations of these regulations in relation to its procurement activities.
