Timber Harvesting Services within Ballaugh Plantation

Please find attached documentation for a quick quote competition to provide Timber Harvesting Services within Ballaugh Plantation to DEFA to be carried out between 30th March 2026 and 11th May 2026.<br /><br />The Forestry, Amenity & Lands Directorate is responsible for the management of the Isle of Man’s public forest estate. A key function of the Directorate is the sustainable production of timber to support the local economy and ensure a consistent supply of raw material to the Isle of Man Sawmill.<br />This project involves the mechanised harvesting and extraction of timber from a designated compartment within Ballaugh Plantation to meet current production targets. The Directorate aims to clearfell this compartment to ensure a consistent supply of quality roundwood for the IOM Sawmill while maximising the commercial value of the crop at its peak maturity. This operation serves as a critical silvicultural "reset," allowing for the restocking of the site and mitigating the risk of windthrow or disease associated with over-mature stands. Furthermore, these works fulfil the Department's commitment to the UK Forestry Standard; as this plantation is managed in accordance with the principles and criteria of FSC®, the operation ensures the continued maintenance of a productive, sustainable, and age-diverse forest estate.<br /><br /><br />The attached documentation consists of:<br />- The Quick Quote Request Document - Timber Harvesting Services within Ballaugh Plantation<br /><br /><br />The Quick Quote will remain available on the Portal for Expressions of Interest until noon (12.00 hrs) on Wednesday 25th March 2026 and the deadline for submissions is noon (12.00 hrs) on Friday 27th March 2026 and your response must be submitted through the portal by this deadline. <br /><br />Once you have selected `Express Interest` a `Quote Documents` tab will appear and this is where you will find the above mentioned documents.<br /><br />After the above deadline the Portal will `Lock-Out` and no further submissions can be made.<br /><br />If your organisation does not wish to submit a response to provide these services, please select `Opt-Out` and select a reason. You can also choose to stop receiving correspondence on this screen.<br /><br />Please note, unless otherwise advised, all Quick Quote Competitions will be subject to the Isle of Man Government Standard Terms & Conditions for Goods and/or Services, a copy of which can be found under the `Supplier Information & Privacy Policies` tab.<br />
