Tender description

Within the next six months, the Department of Defence may wish to establish a contract for the provision of an ammunition demilitarisation and disposal service for the Defence Forces from suitably qualified providers with appropriate expertise in the fields of large-scale conventional military ammunition demilitarisation and disposal. The purpose of this PIN / RFI is to notify the market of the Department of Defence's intention to procure a contractor for the provision of safe, secure and environmentally compliant ammunition demilitarisation and disposal services. The PIN / RFI is also issued to obtain information from the marketplace regarding available technical solutions, operational capacity, industry best practice, innovation and environmental compliance relevant to large-scale ammunition disposal. It is anticipated that one economic operator will be appointed to deliver the defined ammunition demilitarisation and disposal services, and that such services will be procured in accordance with national and EU public procurement rules. As part of this process, the Department of Defence wishes to take market soundings from potential providers and identify market capabilities.
