Provision of Training for Wraparound Childcare Providers – Safeguarding & Early Years Environment

Gloucestershire County Council (Linked to EY & Childcare Service sand the National Wraparound Childcare Programme) has awarded a contract for the delivery of specialist training to support the development, quality and compliance of wraparound childcare provision across the county. The successful provider will plan, prepare and deliver tailored training sessions for registered and unregistered wraparound providers, focusing on: Safeguarding in the context of wraparound provision – including the application of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE), safer practice within extended-day models, responding to concerns, recording procedures, and understanding roles and responsibilities when operating outside the EYFS but in partnership with schools and parents. The Early Years Environment in the context of wraparound provision – including the design and management of safe, engaging and developmentally appropriate environments before and after the school day; supervision and risk management; the use of school-based spaces; and supporting children’s wellbeing, play, and behaviour during wraparound hours. The provider will be responsible for developing training materials, delivering sessions (in-person and/or virtual), and ensuring content aligns with national statutory guidance, local safeguarding arrangements, and Gloucestershire County Council EY &Childcare services quality expectations for wraparound childcare.
