TUS request the Supply, Delivery, Installation, Commissioning and Calibration of a Flow Cytometer and related Training for the Technological University of the Shannon TUS Mid-West. This instrument will support advanced research and analysis capabilities. The flow cytometer enables high-throughput multi-parameter analysis for applications such as bioactive screening, environmental monitoring, and integration with organ-on-chip systems for drug testing and toxicology studies. This analysis can be combined with real time imaging, providing rich data sets for a wide range of applications. With the flow cytometer, it’s possible to obtain a high-throughput analysis of the effects of bioactive on skin cells. It helps assess cell viability, proliferation, apoptosis, and oxidative stress responses, providing crucial insights into the bioactivity and safety of seaweed-derived compounds. Additionally, flow cytometry can analyse changes in cell surface markers and signalling pathways, helping to identify potential anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, and skin-protective properties.
