The council has a requirement for nineteen (19) 12 volt battery powered vehicle mounted salt grit spreaders for use in winter gritting operations and four (4) 12 volt battery powered vehicle mounted liquid brine sprayers to assist with winter operations. The utility vehicle mounted gritting units and liquid brine sprayers are to be used as attachments and must be compatible with all-terrain multi-purpose 4x4 wheel drive utility vehicles during the winter months on cycleways, city centre precinct and road and pavement gritting operations throughout the city. The equipment must demonstrate a high quality and comply with all UK and EU legislation for this type of equipment and the purchase of each piece of equipment must include a 24 month warranty period provided by the supplier.
